How to plan your solution
When using Operator Connect & Teams Phone Mobile from Telia, it’s crucial to understand the prerequisites and the options to optimize your solution. Here are some steps we will walk through when you contact us.

Q & A
How is Operator Connect different from other Teams integrations?
Operator Connect & Teams Phone Mobile are designed for customers looking for replace all or part of their existing telephony solution with Microsoft Teams Phone System.
It is based on direct connection to Telia’s core telephony network, enabling customer to directly manage their phone numbers in Teams Admin Center. The connection between Telia and Microsoft is through a private peering, where fiber cables are attached and allowing a secure, high quality and geo redundant solution. Phone numbers are uploaded to your 365/Teams tenant by Telia’s order tools via API’s to Microsoft, enabling the full potential of Teams Phone incl. Teams Call Queues, CoPilot (AI) and certified partner devices and applications.
Other Teams integrations are often based on a PBX/UC solution that is connected to Teams (often via Internet). The benefits of these solutions include the ability to keep the existing UC/PBX solution while adding the Teams App as a softphone for the users that require it. The disadvantage is that if you want to have many Teams Phone users you will have two systems for user-experience, license cost, administration and support.

What are the benefits with Teams Phone Mobile?
Teams Phone Mobile integrates your SIM-enabled mobile number through Microsoft Teams. This allows you to use many Teams features during the mobile call; for example, you can easily move an ongoing call to Teams, your colleagues will see your status as “Busy in a Call,” and you get a unified call history on both your mobile phone and Teams.
It also offers you a cost-effective solution, especially when you only use the mobile number for the users. No extra cost for fixed call charging, since all calls made for the mobile number are included in your mobile subscription, often including all domestic calls.
While traveling abroad, you can configure the Teams App to handle your mobile calls and avoid roaming charges, as calls will be billed as if made from your home country. This feature is particularly advantageous when traveling outside the EU/ESS region, such as to England, Turkey, or the USA.
